Futura Strategic Synchronicity Exhibition Preview

With details kept to a minimum, the living legend that is Futura is set to hit Los Angeles later this month for a short four-day exhibition titled Strategic Synchronicity. The event’s venue has been kept a secret but judging by initial comments regarding the work from Futura himself, the event boasts some of the graffiti artist’s best work to date over his illustrious career. The exhibiting artworks are also rumored to be accompanied by alternative mediums and techniques from Futura such canvases stretched over aluminum (to combat environmental degradation) as well as strategically created musical pieces and short films to enhance the artist’s visions. The price of the art works range from $1,500 USD to in excess of $100,000 USD. The event sponsored by KRUNK will hit Los Angeles from September 18th to the 21st. Also check out the KRUNK website for a short introductory video.

Damien Hirst x Levi’s 2008 Fall Collection

Contemporary art’s bad-boy Damien Hirst has lined up with Levi’s once again for this upcoming 2008 fall season. The collection combines three distinct elements from Hirst’s love of skulls, spots and tropical butterflies as he aims to create a capsule he likes to call “art you can wear”. While tees and denim are pictured here, other marquee pieces include a leather jacket. For Damien Hirst, the Levi’s collaboration carries another agenda of creating a more consumable form of his artwork with significantly smaller price tags then some of his original works. The pieces look to hit stores such as Union, Fred Segal and Barney’s in mid-September.
