PHANTACi x Nike Air Max 1 “The Grand"

Boasting a famous shop owner in Asian actor and singing sensation Jay Chou, PHANTACi and Nike have paired on a special commemorative pack featuring both an Air Max 1 and leather jacket. Title “The Grand”, the pack is inspired by grand pianos with hints of ivory keys linked to the use of black and white with the store color PHANTACi pink integrated as well. The insole also includes a piano key print. Also within the pack is a full grain leather jacket which features Tech-Pack-esque innovation with waterproof zippers. The items include a new colorway of the previously seen Porter messenger bag as well as a set of rugs. Once one of the most heavily sought items for its exclusive nature, Stussy is releasing a commercial version of its famed International Stussy Tribe Varsity Jacket. Although the act of retailing sort of cheapens what the jacket had come to represent, the jacket never the less is quite nice with a black body and white leather sleeves. A little splash of color is seen with Rasta colored highlights on the cuffs and back logo. Two other unshown colors will also release in red/white and green/white. Buying cool doesn’t come cheap with these tipping the scales at ￥71,400 JPY (approximately $724 USD).

In a project headed by SiLLY THING, Medicom Toys are releasing this awesome 1000% Kubrick set featuring The Beatles titled “Can’t Buy Me Love”. The aesthetics of each large-scale 68 cm (approximately 27 inches) is based off of the short-lived 2 year The Beatles TV Series with the band’s four most prominent members featured in Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Softhard x Juno Mak Vinyls by Michael Lau Preview

Receiving iconic status as pioneers of the early Chinese Hip-Hop movement, Softhard aka DJ Soft “Jan Lamb” and MC H “Eric Kot” will team up with fellow Hong Kong singer and music producer Juno Mak on a set of vinyl figures. The pieces will be done by none other than vinyl master Michael Lau, a pioneer in his own right. Details are dim regarding a release of the figures although we know they will be produced by SiLLY THING toys and with this recent pic, we get a glimpse of the packaging for this highly anticipated set. For some of Japan’s popular brands, seasonal magazines in a catalog/look-book style enable an in-depth look into the season’s offerings in addition to highlighting associates of the brands and their work. Possessing a roster of brands seeing few equals in the world, Hong Kong retailer I.T turns the big 2-0 this year. From humble beginnings as a small retailer known as Green Peace, the retailer has grown to include licenses and accounts for a wide range of fashion styles from Neighborhood, Visvim, Bape, WTAPS and BBC Ice Cream to Maison Martin Margiela and COMME des GARCONS (and its sub-lines), which is literally just the tip of the iceberg. In celebrating its 20th anniversary, the retailer has produced collaboration of epic proportions with many of the brands coming on board to participate in a number of different items. Takashi Murakami x Hiroshi Fujiwara “Hi & Lo” Visvim Kiefer & Tees

Having already seen some previews of their collaborative efforts with the like of Kangol, Head Porter, Levi’s and Visvim we get another look into the special product being marketed for the Hi & Lo event. Takashi Murakami features his signature flower print artwork on a pair of Visvim’s Kiefer Hi co-branded with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design. Along with the shoes we get a look at a set of t-shirts designed by Fujiwara as well. The collection is scheduled to release at KaiKai Kiki during the opening of the “Hi & Lo” exhibition October 31st, 2008.

UNDFTD x Reebok Pump Fury Running Man

Having worked with each of the biggest footwear brands in the industry, UNDFTD embarks on its latest collaboration with Reebok having not linked up with the brand since its visions were realized on the Answer 1 almost two years ago. Their upcoming efforts are seen on a 3-pack of one Reebok’s finest, the Pump Fury. Three colorways are simply stated with tonal uppers, however the liner features a rainbow-colored design. SSUR 2008 Fall/Winter Collection

As the crown jewel of the SSUR Empire, the aptly titled frontrunning brand SSUR offers a great look into the mind of artist Russ Karablin and his blended Russian and American roots. In his 2008 fall/winter collection, his collection embodies a strong artistic theme with various Russo-relevant topics. From his use of traditional Khokhloma motifs to referencing the Russian equivalent brand of the Philly blunt, the seasonal offerings also include inspirations from old Japanese art work, Elvis and the latest Scary Hours Shark piece inspired the Wu-Tang Clan. Coming in a vest or hoody option, both fleece garments are done up in the traditionally soft material capped off with contrast stitching throughout. With their recent concept shop opening up in Tokyo, Minotaur Shop by Tokishirazu will be dropping a collabo bearbrick with Medicom Toy. The 100% bearbrick will feature a chromed out body with the words “Minotaur Urban Gear” etched on its backside. Release date is set for November 8th, 2008.

Busy P x Nike NSW Air Force 1 US Release

Pedro Winter aka Busy P represents one of the most influential people in Europe’s music scene mainly due to his record label Ed Banger and work with artists such as Daft Punk. Taking influences from his career in the industry, Busy P created a pair of colorful Air Force 1’s earlier in the year that would eventually release at colette back in June. Giving the US some European love, Nike has decided to drop the kicks on American soil for the first time. Both Sportswear stores in New York and Los Angeles will see a drop on October 30th and 31st respectively. Each store will receive 100 pairs with a 30 second trivia segment leading to autographed boxes for correct answers.

Medicom Toy x Nike SB “Babekub City” Dunk Low Gore-Tex

Continuing their epic series with the SB campaign, this Saturday the 25th will mark Nike SB’s 5th collaborative release with vinyl giant Medicom Toy. Although the use of Gore-Tex has caused some questions, mainly due to the mesh tongue and heel not being waterproof like the rest of the panels, they still remain as some of the most sought after releases of the year.
